Haiglers celebrate 50 years together

WINNSBORO — Lewis Ivey (Buddy) Haigler, son of the late Vennie Lee Moseley Haigler Strom and Walling Wylie Haigler, and Joyce Viola Lemmon, daughter of the late Robert (Bob) Lauderdale and Essie Mae Hooker Lemmon, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary aboard the MS Westerdam on a seven day cruise to Alaska.

Buddy and Joyce were married on August 31, 1963, at Union Memorial Presbyterian Church in rural Fairfield County. They lived in Northeast Columbia for 47 years and now reside at the Lemmon homeplace in Fairfield County.

Buddy was employed with Multigraphics for 34 years as a sales representative and is now employed by Paper Handling Solutions. He graduated from Mount Zion High School and from the University of South Carolina in 1964.

Joyce was employed by the IRS, the S.C. Tax Commission and BC/BS of SC and is now retired. She graduated from Winnsboro High School in 1961.

The couple had one daughter, Donna Marie Haigler Padua (Michael) of Northeast Columbia (both deceased) and have one grandson, Michael (Trey) Padua, a sophomore at Lander University in Greenwood, S.C.
