WINNSBORO — Seniors Austin Knox electrified the crowd on a touchdown run where he cut back across the field twice to juke all eight Raiders as the RWA Eagles rolled to a 47-30 victory over Jefferson Davis Academy Friday night.

Cloudy skies did not produce the deluge in the weather forecast but the game saw a flurry of penalty flags throughout the night as both teams were a bit chippy in this one. The Eagle spread offense was clicking with quarterback Matt Taylor scoring on a few long runs. Senior Brian Steed also played a solid game for the Eagles who finish coach Dan Dickerson’s fire season at 5-6 and on a two-game winning streak. RWA scored first, made the two-point conversion. They got out to a 20-6 lead and though the Raiders cut the lead to ten points in the second half, they could pull no closer. For a full write-up of the game, see Tuesday’s Herald Independent.
