Insurance Marketplace forum planned for Dec. 3

WINNSBORO — Fairfield Community Health Partners will host a community forum on Dec. 3 to help educate the public on the Affordable Care Act’s Insurance Marketplace. The forum will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fairfield Central High School.

Employees of AARP, South Carolina Benefit Bank, Fairfield Memorial Hospital and Eau Claire Cooperative Center and ACA Navigators will help those in attendance with establishing an account at the online marketplace so that they can see what health insurance benefits they can receive.

Numerous individuals might be eligible for Medicaid but must register with marketplace website or the Benefit Bank to find out.

The forum is a free event that will consist of an introduction that will explain some of the changes that will be taking place under the Affordable Care Act. Following the introduction, everyone will have a chance to receive one-on-one guidance in navigating the online marketplace and having their questions answered about the requirements of the new act and opportunities it may afford.

In addition, the forum will aim to answer questions the public might have about who might be exempt from, and therefore not have to pay, the new marketplace fee.
