Erwin Brewer, the suspect in the Dec. 13 shooting death of Larry Strickland Jr., was arrested this morning.
According to LaGrange police, at around 9:30 a.m. U.S Marshal's Office assisted by the Meriwether County Sheriff's Office and Manchester Police responded to the Hilltop Apartments located in Manchester, and arrested Erwin Brewer, 30, of LaGrange without incident.
Brewer has been returned to LaGrange where he is currently being held in the Troup County Jail.
Due to the severity of the crime committed and the immediate need for capture, LaGrange Police asked for the assistance of the U.S. Marshal's Office.
“One of the resources we had avaliable is our relationship with US marshal services,” LaGrange Police Sgt. Marshall McCoy said.
“They were able to help us track him down.”
Brewer had an active warrant out for his arrest since Dec. 13, when he allegdly shot Strickland in the 300 block of Boulevard Street in the middle of the street and killed him.
