JENKINSVILLE — Around 40 people attended the annual meeting of the Jenkinsville Water Company last Wednesday night.

Technician James Green kept the company members informed about recent issues with brownish water related to water purchased from the Town Of Winnsboro per Mid-County water as a go-between.

Greg Ginyard reported all accounts payable paid through end of the year and that the company passed both a SLED audit and financial audit in 2013.

Six seats were open on the board, including a one-year term for the late James McConnell. The one-year term was filled by member Mary White. White was elected by acclamation after several other members were nominated but declined to run for the position.

Though Tim Roseboro was absent, member Bertha Goins and Cliff Howard nominated him for one of the vacant seats. No one was nominated to run against him, so Roseboro was elected by acclamation. The company members re-elected Greg Ginyard, Joe McBride, Lori Smith and Tangee Jacobs by acclamation as well.

Following the election, the board withdrew into executive session. Once back in open session, the board voted to re-elect its current slate of officers: President Greg Ginyard; Vice President Apostle McBride; Secretary Lori Smith; and Chaplain Bertha Goins.

The next meeting of JWC is Feb. 3 at 6 p.m.
