WINNSBORO — Sixteen arrests were made Thursday in a county-wide narcotics operation in Fairfield County and according to Captain Brad Douglas with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, more arrests are expected in the case. The operation targeted street level dealers of illegal drugs and resulted from months of surveillance and undercover drug buys.


This narcotics operation was conducted with the assistance of SLED, Winnsboro Dept of Public Safety, and the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators seized approximately one pound of marijuana, $587, a fire arm and a moped during the operation.


Fairfield County Sheriff Herman Young was thankful for the combined, multi-agency efforts. “This is what law enforcement is about, working together with a shared, common goal,” he said.


Young added that he was pleased with the organization and implementation of the operation and commended his deputies, especially those assigned to the narcotics unit.


The operation began in the Winnsboro, Greenbrier and Ridgeway areas with the execution of four drug search warrants. More arrests are expected.


The following individuals were arrested:


— Faith Alexandra Bouknight, 23, Old Camden Road, Winnsboro, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, disorderly conduct


— Calvin LaVon Rice, 37, Elders Lane, Winnsboro, distribution of cocaine


— Preston Tyrone Brewer, 25, Spring St., Winnsboro, distribution of marijuana


— Kelcey Lorenzo Young, 26, Fagan Road, Winnsboro, two counts of distribution of cocaine base, three counts of distribution of marijuana


— Charles Tyler Bouknight, 24, Alexander Circle, Winnsboro, distribution of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana


— Kelvin LeRoy Curlee, 35, Reservoir Road, Winnsboro, possession with intent to distribute marijuana


— Deanne Patrese Haskins, 34, Reservoir Road, Winnsboro, distribution of marijuana


— Steven Armstrong, 20, Cherry Road, Winnsboro, two counts of distribution of cocaine base, distribution of marijuana


— Deshae D. McDuffie, 19, Frasier St., Winnsboro, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, disorderly conduct


— Matthew Demetri Belton, 32, Long Road, Ridgeway, manufacturing marijuana, Magistrate’s Court bench warrant


— Joseph Leonardo Turner, 24, Blaze Lane, Winnsboro, distribution of cocaine base


— Jimmetrius Dorsey, 28, Winn St., Winnsboro, two counts of distribution of marijuana, distribution of cocaine base


— Carlos Harts, 28, Flora Circle, Winnsboro, distribution of cocaine


— Charles D Mitchell, 18, S.C. 34 East, Ridgeway, distribution of cocaine base


— Brandon Harris, 25, Long Road, Ridgeway, possession with intent to distribute marijuana
