WINNSBORO — The Richard Winn Academy Lady Eagles continued their perfect start as they entered the new year, defeating the Thomas Sumter Academy Generals 41-30 on Friday night.

Emily Brigman led RWA scorers with 13 points. Jaycie Johnson added 10 points while Carson Justice had 9 and Jessie Stidham had 7. For the season Justice leads RWA averaging 17.6 points per game. Stidham averages 10.1 and Johnson 10 points per game for RWA.

Taylor Knudson led TSA with 15 points. RWA allowed one three pointer by Sidney Long but otherwise kept TSA quiet from down town.

RWA led 21-8 at the half and stretched the lead to a 34-17 advantage through three quarters. RWA made 10-16 from the line and hit two more three point shots than Thomas Sumter. Sisters Carson Justice (one three-pointer) and Emily Brigman (two three-pointers) led the Eagles from downtown.

Stidham and Johnson did most of their damage in the paint for RWA. The Lady Eagles have another road game coming up Tuesday against Spartanburg Day School. Junior varsity action starts at 4 p.m. with varsity games to follow.
