RIDGEWAY — Barbara Luke, 80, of Ridgeway, died Oct. 4 from injuries she sustained Sept. 24 in a three-car wreck 1.5 miles south of Ridgeway on U.S. 21.

Lance Corp. Tony Keller with the S.C. Highway Patrol said two vehicles — a 2006 Ford driven by 18-year-old Aaron Arnold of Blythewood and a 2000 Ford driven by 33-year-old Jaisen Bentz of Ridgeway — were travelling north on U.S. 21 when the 2000 Ford slowed to make a left turn.

The vehicle was rear-ended by the 2006 Ford which forced Bentz’s vehicle across the center line, where it struck a 2006 Mercedes driven by John Geiger, 67, who was travelling south on U.S. 21.

Luke, a passenger in Bentz’s vehicle, was wearing a seat belt, as were Arnold, Bentz and Geiger. The four victims were transported to Palmetto Richland Hospital for treatment of injuries.
