COLUMBIA — Bojangles’ continues support of public education in South Carolina and will donate hundreds of books to local schools in honor of teachers of the year.
Fairfield County teacher Cynthia George is one of nine teachers in the Midlands to be honored. Other teachers included are Elizabeth Supan, Aiken Teacher of the Year, Billie Smith, Barnwell 45 Teacher of the Year, Sumesh Nair, Calhoun Teacher of the Year, Brian Leininger, Kershaw Teacher of the Year, Vivian Tuten, Lexington 4 Teacher of the Year, Jeannette Arvay Beck, Richland 1 Teacher of the Year, Patrick Kelly, Richland 2 Teacher of the Year, Belinda McEachern, S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice Teacher of the Year.
Bojangles’ honored these District Teachers of the Year from across the Midlands by presenting books donated to their school libraries and dedicated in their names.
This event is one of 13 happening across South Carolina this spring as Bojangles’ continues its support of public education in the fifth year of its partnership with South Carolina Future Minds. Bojangles’ is proud to partner with S.C. Future Minds to celebrate dedicated educators and promote excellence for the 700,000 students, 50,000 teachers and nearly 1,200 schools in the state’s public education system.
This year Bojangles’ will donate nearly 3,000 books to South Carolina public schools. Since 2010, Bojangles’ has donated more than 12,000 books to schools across the state and raised nearly $60,000 as part of this important partnership. Bojangles’ is a major sponsor of the Teacher of the Year program and founding sponsor of South Carolina Teacher Appreciation Month.
