The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following incidents:
— Deputies responded Nov. 25 to a suspicious fire off Heritage Road in Winnsboro. Mitford Fire Chief Mike Good told the responding officer that three fires had occurred at the location, including a brush fire Nov. 22. The next day a truck bed used as a utility shed burned as did woods behind the residence.
— Deputies responded Nov. 26 to Lamplighter Apartments for a case of threats supposedly made in the parking lot there.
— Deputies responded Nov. 26 to Armstrong Road in Winnsboro on a disorderly conduct call. Deputies escorted an individual from the residence but no charges were filed.
— Deputies responded Nov. 27 to a disturbance on Poplar Street where two men argued over the money involving in the purchase of a dog.
— A Blue Suzuki GSX 100R motorcycle was reported stolen Nov. 27 at from a Honey Bee Circle residence in Winnsboro. The victim said he believed the motorcycle was stolen while he slept.
— Deputies responded Nov. 27 to a burglary at a Bellfield Road residence in Ridgeway. Guns and $8,200 in jewelry were reported stolen.
— Deputies responded Nov. 29 to an aggravated assault call on Lookout Tower Road in Ridgeway. According to the incident report, a son and his mother argued and then the dispute became violent resulting in her cutting both himself and her with a knife. The victim refused to press charges.
— Deputies responded Nov. 29 to a larceny on Peach Street in Ridgeway. A 16-foot trailer with a black steel flatbed was reported stolen along with a lawn mower and grass cutting equipment estimated to be worth about $14,800.
The Fairfield County Sheriffs Office made the following arrests:
— Larry Corlius Jacobs, 33, of 900 W. College St. in Winnsboro, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct on Nov. 30. The responding officer was shown holes in the wall and broken glass from when witnesses said Jacobs tore up the house.
— John’al Deaue Castleberry, 35, of 7135 Garner St., was arrested Dec. 1 on charges of third-degree assault and battery. According to the incident report, the victim said Castleberry assaulted her at his mother’s residence on Catawba Road in Great Falls. The victim stated that a verbal altercation resulted in Castleberry repeatedly smashing her face into the floor. The victim fled the location and called law enforcement from the E.M.S. station on Wateree Road.
— Laquan Morkise Bryant, 30, of 984 Thelma Gladney Road in Winnsboro, was charged Dec. 1 with drunkenness and disorderly conduct at a bar on S.C. 34 East in Ridgeway after deputies responded to a report of possible shots fired and a fight in the parking lot. According to the incident report, the subject used profanity and assumed a threatening stance toward a sheriff’s deputy. The subject attempted to pull away from deputies as they escorted him to a patrol car so one officer tased the suspect to regain control of the situation.
— Hezekiah Carnell Alston, 51, of 214 Crawford St., was charged with disorderly conduct after an officer observed Alston with slurred speech, unsteady gait and smelling of alcohol on Fagan Road.
