The boil water advisory has been lifted for the Jenkinsville water system.

Gregory Ginyard with Jenkinsville Water Company said that the traces of the high chloroform no longer are present in the system.

The boil water advisory was implemented on Monday following a positive E. coli test at a residence in the area. However, Ginyard speculated the positive result may have come from a laboratory test error.

He confirmed the presence of high chloroform in the water earlier last week which led to residents having to boil their water for one minute before drinking or cooking with it.
