Music and fun graced the stage in front of the town clock on Congress Street as more than 300 people turned out Friday evening for the event.

The second annual Shagging in the Street, turned out more than 300 people on Friday evening to downtown Winnsboro.

The stage was set for the featured band of the evening, Flashback The Party Band.

Flashback is no stranger to Winnsboro as they have played at several events in town including the annual Rock Around the Clock festival.

The evening began slowly with only about 50 people at the start of the concert, but by the time the band started their fifth number the crowd had picked up with numbers well over 100.

Lawn chairs lined the street and sidewalks as everyone took in the music and the show that came along with the dynamic dancing by the band members.

The music included beach music, old school, 70’s, pop and so much more.

They got the the crowd up and on their feet and included an impromptu on-stage dance performance by local, Logan Doty III.

Doty, along with his parents and little sister, danced most of the night until suddenly, from out of nowhere, Doty took center stage to do “the lawn mower” with a band member.

This event had a little something for everyone, from snow cones to hot dogs and from fish to toys sold by local vendors.

This event is just one of many co-sponsored by the Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Winnsboro.
