The Fairfield Central High School Varsity Cheerleaders, under the leadership of coach Robin Gaither, are full of spirit and ready to cheer on the mighty Griffins.
Known also as the Varsity Gold Squad, the team consists of juniors and seniors.
Their goals are to promote and uphold team spirit for those they encounter, to develop good sportsmanship by example and to support good relations in the community.
Gaither, a proud native of Fairfield County, has been involved in cheerleading for over 12 years.
Her passion, which is now passed along to her ladies, stems from cheering at a young age.
She teaches the ladies that as cheerleaders they are also role models in the classroom, school and in their community.
Gaither said, “I am enthused to return to be the head cheerleading coach of the Fairfield Central High and Middle School where I truly enjoy working with cheerleaders, staff, parents, administration and community.”
The cheerleaders pride themselves at being “The Spirit Behind the Griffins”.
