WINNSBORO — On Wednesday, SLED agents arrested former Winnsboro Public Safety Officer Michael Bernard Roseboro.

Roseboro, 43, of 81 Nelson Lane Winnsboro, has been charged with attempted murder, a felony that has a penalty of up to thirty years in prison.

Roseboro faces those charges from the Oct. 28 shooting of his estranged wife, Takisha Roseboro.

The arrest culminated from a SLED investigation that was conducted at the request of the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department.

Roseboro was released late Wednesday from Palmetto Richland Hospital and was taken into custody at that time.

Prior to the arrest he was healing from a self-inflicted gunshot wound he received when SLED agents and Sheriff’s deputies attempted to arrest him at a camp ground in the Lake Wateree area of Fairfield County.

He was booked at the Fairfield County Detention Center.

The Sixth Circuit Solicitor’s Office will prosecute the case.
