The Fairfield Central High School Griffins were victories against the Columbia High Capitals on Friday night, defeating them 38 to 19.

The Griffins look out of character as they started off the game making a few mistakes, but the capitals did the same with the evening starting out with flags on the field.

With 7:12 in the first quarter the Griffins Damien Bell scored followed the extra point by Compton Walker making the score 7-0.

The quarter continued with a pass interception by Devontae Foster but the Griffins didn’t manage to score while they had the ball in their possession and turned over on down to the Capitals.

After a few incomplete passes the coaches had to change up and run the ball a little more as the game continued.

The Griffins seem very determined to win their first region game and had a full stand of fans cheering them on. At the half the score was Fairfield Central 26 and Columbia High 13.

The Griffins rushes for some major yards with DeAndre Belton ran for 77 yards while Damien Bell and Larry G. Bell ran for a combines 106 yards. On the defensive side of the ball they forced the Capitals to turn the ball over on downs and held them from scoring.
