Rotarian Mary Lynn Kinley invited two ladies from the Diabetes Education Center at Fairfield Memorial Hospital to explain the F.L.I.P. program to the Winnsboro Rotary Club.

They were Fairfield Memorial Hospital Director of Diabetes Education Mac Russell and Barbara Brentlinger, F.L.I.P. director.

F.L.I.P. is an acronym for Fairfield Life Improvement Program.

The hospital received a grant to fund this program which was established on Aug. 1, 2010, for the purpose of assisting the residents of Fairfield County who are affected by diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Russell and Brentlinger also discussed nutritional counseling services available at the hospital.

These two ladies explained the guidelines, objectives and goals of the program.

They provided statistics that proved how needed this service is to the county’s residents.

This was good information for the Rotarians.
