WINNSBORO — Funeral Services for Jeannette Propst Ellison, age 93, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 301 West Liberty St., Winnsboro. Burial will follow in St. John’s Episcopal Cemetery.
Mrs. Ellison died on July 18, 2012, at the Presbyterian Home in Lexington, South Carolina. She was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina, on Dec. 26, 1918, the daughter of the late Floyd Ernest Propst and Jennie Leake Propst. Mrs. Ellison had lived at the Presbyterian Home since August 1999. She attended Converse College and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1940. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and entertaining family and friends. She was generous, kind, and beautiful and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Ellison is survived by her daughter, Carolyne Ellison Stringfellow and son-in-law, Howard Stringfellow, of Scranton, Pa.; her son, Thomas Woodward Ellison Jr. and daughter-in-law, Brenda Veal Ellison, of Valrico, Fla.; two grandsons, Jonathan Pruitt Ellison and Thomas Douglas Ellison; three great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ellison was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Woodward Ellison; her brothers John Leake Propst and Floyd Ernest Propst; and her sister Dorothy Propst Hinnant.
