COLUMBIA — Winnsboro native Katie Jackson-Evans passed away Aug. 25, 2012, at the age of 62.
Services were conducted by Pastor Terry O. Corbin of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rev. Carl. E. Jackson, Sr. and Ollie Russell Jackson.
Jackson-Evans was married to Allen E. Evans Sr. and was blessed with three sons; Allen E. Evans Jr. (Ebony), Derek T. Evans (Michelle) and Jaysen C. Evans (Kelly).
Sorrowfully recognizing her death, but cherishing her memories, Jackson-Evans leaves her grandchildren; Alisha Evans, Danyell Ritchie Evans, Kadeja Green, Jashawanna Evans, Amari Evans, Omar Evans, Alexis Evans and Krya Ritchie.
She is survived by siblings: Rev. Carl E. Jackson Jr. (Tryfoster), Ollie G. Chandler, Peter Jackson, Martha Jackson Miracle, Harriet Williams, Michael Russell Jackson, Janet Jackson Simpson and Doris Jackson Gladney.
One sister, Edith Simmonette, preceded her in death.
She also leaves a host of close relatives, friends and associates.
Glover’s Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
