RIDGEWAY — Myrtle Sinclair Thompson, 89, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Sept. 17.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home located at 832 Ridgeway Road in Lugoff. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in Aimwell Cemetery in Ridgeway.

Born on August 13, 1923 and reared in Camden, Mrs. Thompson was the wife of the late Lawrence Iverson “Larry” Thompson, Jr.

She was the daughter of the late Vernon Hampton and Lethia Trapp Sinclair of Ridgeway, formerly of Camden.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Camden.

Her previous church memberships were at North Trenholm Baptist Church in Columbia, and for many years, at Ridgeway Baptist Church.

She is survived by her six children, Betsy Starnes (John) of Brevard, N.C., Ruth Dumas (Dave) of Florence, Ala., Susan Harrington (Rudy) of Columbia, Larry Thompson, III (Linda) of Boiling Springs, N.C., Ellen Roberts (Jim) of Ridgeway, and Fran Snell (Warren) of Florence.

Surviving in addition are 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and four stepgreat-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Larry Thompson, and sister, Elizabeth Sinclair.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Camden, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, S.C. 29020 or Connie Maxwell’s Children’s Home, 810 Maxwell Avenue, Greenwood, S.C. 29646.

Mrs. Thompson was a foster parent to four children from Connie Maxwell’s Children’s Home over the years.
