The Stop the Violence Ministry will hold a march in observation of National Violence Prevention Month.
The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 13 beginning 8 a.m. at the Department of Social Services parking lot. The purpose of the march is raise awareness about the violence in Fairfield County.
The Stop the Violence Ministry is a group of local pastors and citizens who have come together to provide support for those who have lost loved ones to violence.
The ministry leaders felt the event would be connect people and show strength for the cause in numbers. There will be several speakers to include Winnsboro’s very own Cheryl Weldon.
Weldon has loss two sons to violence.
Participants are asked to bring a picture or wear a T-shirt with a picture of the person they loss to violence.
