The back to school fever is spreading in Fairfield County with only days before the first day of school for hundreds of students.
This Saturday the Fairfield County School District will host its Fifth Annual Back to School Rally at the Fairfield Central High School gym from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. with guest speaker Stephen G. Peters of The Peter’s Group.
The kick off will begin with an opening march from the top parking lot between the middle and high schools, with the line up at 9:15 a.m.
This march will include members of the band, cheerleaders, school board members, community leaders and Fairfield County Superintendent J.R. Green.
There will be a brief program followed by break out sessions for all school age groups and for parents. The session will take place in designated classrooms.
Community vendors will be on hand in the gym, including the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department, IdentAKid program, Fairfield Behavioral Health and Fairfield County Public Library.
There will also be a school supply give away, as well.
