On June 30 Joe Seibles retired after 36 years in the education system.

Seibles, who attended Kelly Miller Elementary from 1959-1966 and graduated from McCrorey Liston High School in 1971, earned his degree in elementary education from Allen University, finishing in 1976.

During his time in education, he has taught social studies, reading, math and physical education.

Seibles also coached basketball and baseball at Winnsboro High, and later, at Fairfield Central High School.

In his 36 years he has worked at Mt. Zion, Fairfield Middle School, Kelly Miller Elementary and Geiger Elementary School. He completed his education career at Geiger serving as principal.

Seibles is married to Ella Seibles and they have three children Quentin Seibles, Ashley Seibles and Jodarius Seibles.

In his free time he enjoys photography and being active within his church, Shiloh Independent.

Seibles said,”I am too young to just sit around and do nothing.”

His plan is to take some time to rest, and then this lifelong learner will go back to school.
