WINNSBORO — The state Superintendent of Education has chosen to visit Fairfield County on Jan. 24.
Dr. Mick Zais will visit four area schools to learn more about the practices that are producing successes at those schools as well as the challenges each school faces. He plans to share information from the federal and state report cards regarding the performance of the district and school.
“We are excited about Dr. Zais’ visit and look forward to discussing the excellent things occurring in Fairfield County Schools,” said J.R. Green, superintendent of Fairfield County Schools.
According to the website at the S.C. Department of Education, Zais frequently travels the state to visit schools and share strategies with educators. He has visited 162 schools since Jan. 1, 2013.
Typically these school visits include Zais touring the school and visiting with faculty and administrators, district-level staff and students.
