The yard of Buster and Diane Mitchell is given high honors this week as our yard of the week pick.
The home, located on Shangri La Drive, sits on Lake Wateree and is 6,000 square feet.
The Mitchells are retired and have one son, one daughter and six granddaughters.
Diane Mitchell, who is responsible for the planting, loves to plant in odd pots and containers that others may not see as flower pots.
As you look around the yard, the first thing you will notice in the front yard is what seems to be a set of flower pots that are falling over.
They aren’t.
The pots are called flip flop pots and add a beautiful touch to the yard.
Just around the corner sits an old sink that her husband had painted for her, and inside, you guested it, are more flowers.
One of the highlights to this yard is the colorful bottle trees that sit in the yard and near the lake.
The Mitchells enjoy their yard so much and often share it with their church group, Mt. Zion of Great Falls which comes out for a fun day.
Happy gardening to the Mitchells, and thank you to Ralph Black for recommending this yard of the week.
