WINNSBORO — The Winnsboro Town Council will meet Tuesday to address a bid recommendation for the town clock and market hall stabilization project, a staff vacancy at the Winnsboro Department of Public Safety and have second reading and public hearing of ordinance #031913, a business license ordinance.

The ordinance would change Winnsboro municipality ordinances so they are in line with the North America Industrial Code System. The classifications may change for some businesses, but town officials said that rates are not changing, just classifications.

The Market Hall and Clock Tower is a Winnsboro landmark that puts the area on the map as a tourist attraction and a historical landmark. Bids from three firms have been considered for the work and town council will discuss further on which firm will receive the job.

Executive session will involve legal and contractual matters with the Red Clay Company and also will address a contractual water service request.

The Citizen of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Business of the Year and Employee of the Year all will be announced at this meeting as well.
