The town’s monthly finance meeting was brief, ending almost as quickly as it started.

There was a short presentation by Hayley Bowers with M.B. Kahn Construction out of Columbia.

Bowers addressed the council to share some of the projects that Kahn Construction’s has worked on in the past.

One familiar project for most in the area would be the Mack truck plant, but Bowers took her time to let the council know that the company does more that just construction bids.

They have constructed water treatment plants, pump stations, wastewater treatment plants and health care facilities just to name a few.

The company also assists with grant research to fund projects in areas and wanted to offer their services to the town for upcoming projects.

The meeting also included the purchase of office equipment for the annex building which should be opening after Labor Day.

Wrapping up the meeting was talk of the old armory.

The rental contract for the armory will be reviewed at a later date to make sure that the rental cost is covering the upkeep of the facility. No additional reservations will me made for the building until this time.
