Rotarian Karen Newsome had two gentlemen from Midlands Tech to be her program recently.
They were Dr. Sonny White, president of Midlands Tech and Tom Ledbetter, director of the Enterprise Campus.
Together they presented many facts about the college and its success.
White discussed the role the college is playing in preparing the community workers to meet the workforce requirements of the area.
He shared the top four fields for jobs now.
They were health sciences, high tech manufacturing, nuclear construction and internet technology (IT).
Midlands Tech is excited about what they have to offer citizens who are interested in these careers.
He said that the college will have a presence at Fairfield Central High School this year; the office will be called a career coach and will be staffed by two representatives from Midlands Tech to talk personally with the students and plan their career paths.
The Midlands Education Business Alliance (MEBA) will also be represented in this office. The college is pleased to have this on-site opportunity to work with Fairfield County students.
