Winnsboro town council has brief agenda

The Winnsboro Town Council met on Tuesday night which was rescheduled due to the Fourth of July holiday.

The agenda included one presentation, resolution, ordinance and two items under other business. Executive session followed to discuss the municipal court personnel matter.

The presentation for the evening was done by Gail Floyd with the Winnsboro Mill Village Reunion. They presented the council with a donation and many thanks for their support during the reunion.

Floyd said the reunion was very successful with more than 800 people in attendance.

In new business for the evening, resolution #070312, was approved.

This resolution deals with prevention of accidental losses affecting employees, establishment of loss control policies and procedures, and making sure that each of these policies are followed.

This is just a brief summary of resolution #070312.

Also on the agenda was a request to fill one of the open positions in the short-staffed Gas/Water/Sewer department.

This request was granted.

At the close of the meeting, the council had not reached a decision on the municipal court matter.
