WINNSBORO — The varsity boys’ squad from Richard Winn ran into a bunch of Rowdy Rebels Thursday night. The visitors from Prosperity kept RWA from having a scorer in double figures on the night.

On Senior Night the Eagles were led in scoring by a sophomore, Cameron Cooper who had nine points. Those were not near enough to bridge the gap in the 75-34 MCHS victory, though. Rebels coach Emmanuel Dewalt once again go the better of his former head coach on the hardwood from his playing days at Union High School.

Seniors Reid Johnson, Logan Gibbons and Corey Davis were recognized at halftime.

The three seniors hoped their squad could turn things around the following night against Oakbrook Prep. Senior Reid Johnson had a better game, scoring 15 to lead RWA.

Patrick Pope and Cameron Cooper each added 11 for the Eagles, but Oakbrook ran them out of the gymn 94-52 in the defeat. The RWA boys team wrapped up its season Monday on the road against Greenwood Christian, but results were not available for the Tuesday edition of The Herald Independent.
