WINNSBORO — The confines of home were friendly to Richard Winn Academy Friday night as the Knights from Greenwood Christian came to town to square off in a basketball match up.

The varsity boys’ team got back into the win column with a 73-29 victory. The Eagles were led in scoring by a pair of guards, sophomore Cameron Cooper and junior Pat Pope.

Cooper had 20 to lead the team while the point guard Pope added 16 in a game that was as lopsided as the score suggests.

Finally things came together with the Eagles in their motion, give and go offense. Solid ballhandling led to clear looks at the basket, which the open shooters were able to get down unlike in recent games when the basket appeared smaller than the ball approaching it at times.

The Eagles play next at Spartanburg Day school on Jan. 22.
