WINNSBORO — Richard Winn Coach Joe Pitt hopes that the third time will be the charm for RWA basketball. The basketball games between Mid-Carolina High and Richard Winn Academy that originally were originally rescheduled for Wed. Jan. 30 at 6 p.m.were postponed due to weather concerns. This followed a postponement on Friday Jan. 25 for similar weather concerns. The games were rescheduled for Thursday night, Jan. 31. In this third attempt to play those games, he hopes to do well against his former player and Rebel head coach Emmanuel Dewalt. For the girls team, Coach Jason Haltiwanger has them looking to avenge their only loss of the season which came at Mid-Carolina on Jan. 10.

Mid-Carolina had to play a make-up region game on Monday night due to weather concerns on Friday, Jan. 25. That led to Richard Winn’s non-conference match up with the Rebels to be moved the first time. The make up games were played at Richard Winn.

The Thursday night game results were not available in time for the Friday edition of The Herald Independent. That coverage, along with coverage of the Friday, Feb. 1 away games at Oakbrook Academy will be in the Tuesday edition.
