WINNSBORO — Fairfield Behavioral Health Services recognized former board of directors’ chairman, Attorney William Frick during their meeting on Dec. 17.

For the past six years, Frick has served as a member of the nine member board of directors of Fairfield Behavioral Health Services, each of whom are appointed by Fairfield County Council. One year after his appointment he was quickly recognized by the board of directors as someone with great governance and leadership skills as well as vision, which led to a unanimous vote for him to serve as chairman.

“During his tenure he has provided tremendous support to me and this organization locally and statewide through involvement in several civic and professional organizations,” said Vernon Kennedy Sr., executive director for Fairfield Behavioral Health Services. “His participation in the Behavioral Health Services Administration’s annual statewide seminar for board members governing substance abuse providers has been impressive and recognized by my colleagues. He exemplifies a true example of how a board member should lead. Certainly, Fairfield Behavioral Health Services has benefited from his involvement.”

Some of the accomplishments under his service have included leading the board of directors in a retreat to learn how to govern and support an organization; providing legal insight on staffing, contractual, and criminal issues; arranging for substance abuse professionals to present at the Annual Public Defenders Conference (first ever); and recruiting and recommending valuable board members to be appointed by Fairfield County Council.
