BLAIR — A 40-year-old man is being questioned as a person of interest in the deaths of his parents Monday morning off S.C. 215 just beyond Salem Crossroads.
Captain Brad Douglas with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department said Ruth Marion Mahorsky, 70, and Richard F. Mahorsky, 71, both of 80 S.C. 215 in Blair, were killed.
Douglas said Matthew Richard Mahorsky was being held as a person of interest.
According to www.wistv.com, a deputy found the bodies of the Mahorskys outside the home. The deputy was checking on them after co-workers called the sheriff’s department when the two did not show up for work.
Law enforcement told WIS-TV that the couple died from gunshot wounds from a high-powered rifle.
During a search, deputies found the son inside the home and he was taken into custody for questioning. Matthew Richard Mahorsky had not been named a suspect and had not been charged in the case at press time.
