On April 17, Gov. Nikki Haley (left) and the S.C. Department of Commerce (Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt, right) honored selected economic development leaders as S.C. Ambassadors for Economic Development as part of Industry Appreciation Week. The awards ceremony recognized 51 individuals from all 46 counties who contributed to economic development in their local communities.
Jeff Archie (center), a native of Jenkinsville and vice president and chief nuclear officer at the VC Summer Nuclear Station, was recognized for his involvement in community and economic development efforts. He currently serves as the chairman of the Fairfield CEO Roundtable, sits on the Fairfield QuickJobs Center Advisory Committee and served on the Economic Development Strategic Plan Steering Committee. Archie is also actively involved in developing the county’s future workforce and routinely participates in career fairs at Fairfield Central High School.
