RIDGEWAY — The First Friday in Ridgeway is back. Shops along downtown Ridgeway will stay open late tonight to celebrate the first Friday of the month.
Laura’s Tea Room is hosting a book signing by author, Virginia Schafer. Her book, The Legendary Locals of Fairfield County, was released in April and the Laura’s Tea Room owner, Carol Allen, has been looking forward to hosting the affair.
“We are very excited about this event,” Allen stated. “Virginia (Schafer) has been out and about signing books and we are flattered to have her here.”
Schafer will hold a presentation and custom sign books from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. During the festivities, there may even be a surprise visit from some of the “Legendary Locals” featured in the book.
Those in attendance can also enjoy snacks and deli-sandwiches that will be served all along the storefronts. The first Friday of the month is always a unique time in Ridgeway and Allen believes it is part of what makes the town special.
“There is always a lot going on,” Allen noted. “All the stores and shops pull out the red carpet and the whole town really opens up for it.”
