On Wednesday the jury in general sessions court deliberated on a verdict in the trial of Michael David Williams, a former EMS officer charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Williams faced two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor as well as five counts of a lewd act upon a child.
There were two different child victims in the case.
The jury found him guilty on all seven counts and the 58-year-old Williams was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Williams, of 45 Copper Road, Kershaw, worked for Chester County EMS prior to his arrest in 2008 by the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department.
The incidents of sexual misconduct for which he was convicted occurred in Great Falls at the home-based day care run by Williams’ wife.
The daycare lost its license a few months after Williams was arrested.
