RIDGEWAY — Two Ridgeway men were arrested earlier this month during a narcotics investigation by the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Department.
Almonzo Lamar Belton, 32, of 1979 Qualls Road, and Marcus Jermaine Mobley, 29, of Weldon Lane, were arrested in the early morning hours of May 9 when deputies with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Belton’s residence in the Longtown area of Fairfield County.
“The Sheriff’s Office had been receiving information from citizens in this area about the ongoing drug activity on Qualls Road,” Sheriff Herman Young said. “Deputies were able to utilize this information to aid in this investigation. This is another fine example of law enforcement and the community working together to target illegal drugs.”
Deputies seized a quantity of illegal drugs including marijuana, cocaine base (crack cocaine), prescription medications and powder cocaine. Additionally, officers seized a shotgun, a handgun and $450 in cash.
Belton was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (Hydrocodone), and possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone).
Mobley, who was wanted for an outstanding Fairfield County Magistrate’s bench warrant, was also charged with possession of marijuana.
