WINNSBORO — Fairfield County sheriff’s deputies broke up an indoor marijuana growing operation in Fairfield County following a routine traffic stop on April 5.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., Michael Eugene Davison, 34, of 73 Railroad Ave. in Winnsboro, was arrested for failure to stop for a blue light, no South Carolina driver’s license and manufacturing marijuana.
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle Davison was driving near the intersection of U.S. 321 Bypass South and U.S. 321 Business South, but he refused to stop. Officers initiated a pursuit. The pursuit continued to Fagan Road where the vehicle was stopped.
A search of the vehicle’s trunk yielded a marijuana plant growing in a flower pot. As the investigation progressed, deputies and narcotics investigators searched Davison’s residence and located an indoor marijuana growing operation. Items used for marijuana cultivation were seized along with 65 marijuana plants.
