Fairfield County School District’s Seamless Feeding program has once again proven to be a great service to the community.

Sponsored by the USDA, the program is opened to all persons meeting the definition of children, and persons over 18 who meet the state agency definition of mentally or physically disabled.

For the last 12 years the district has provided this service to the community.

Meals are provided on a first-come, first served basis at all school locations in the area.

Seven sites are being served this summer to include nonprofit organizations in the area.

Those seven sites are Fairfield Central High School, Fairfield Elementary School, Fairfield Magnet School for Math and Science, Fairfield Middle School, Geiger Elementary School, Kelly Miller Elementary, and McCrorey Liston Elementary.

The program is a postive light in a the dark time of our county, with high unemployment rates and the increase in the cost of food and gas.

The program’s goal, to make sure that children do not have to go without food during the summer months, is welcoming.
