The grand yard of Patricia LeGrand takes high honors this week as our yard of the week.
The home as well as the layout of the yard has been in place since 1969 and it makes for a beautiful morning or evening view.
LeGrand who was honored to be nominated by her sister Jo Johns-Creech, has always had a passion for the outdoors.
Her passion for the outdoors and love for gardening shows in the care she has given to her yard.
LeGrand and her two living sisters not only share being retired from state education, but each shares a love for gardening.
Now each morning she is able to grab her cup of coffee come out marvel at God’s great creations in her backyard, including the squirrels that find her fig, pecan and pear trees to be tasty.
A figurine of an owl tries to warn off the squirrels, but it does not seem to work.
LeGrand said that her grandmother always had fruit trees in her yard, and she to wanted to do the same.
Along with the fruit trees are the bright and colorful crape myrtle trees that she can’t seem to stop from growing, which allows her to now share with her daughter.
Also in the backyard is a small garden with tomatoes, squash, okra, and cucumbers.
Congratulations to Patricia LeGrand this week’s yard of the week winner.
