Summer Nuclear Plant and to receive an annual update on Reactor 2 and Reactor 3 expansion projects. County council approves bond issuance
Kevin Boozer Staff Writer WINNSBORO — Third and final reading of Ordinance No. 614 passed 4-1 in a called meeting of the Fairfield County Council, giving the county authority to levy bonds for the county’s upcoming $24.06 million bond issuance. WINNSBORO — Relay for Life has been cancelled tonight due to severe weather. Stacey Pearson said that when tornado watches and tornado warnings were issued for the area that the school district cancelled the event. Surveyor Mike Mills recently noticed a few rare visitors to Fairfield County.  A pair of white pelicans were on Lake Monticello.The white pelicans which have a normal range of Mississippi river and west to the Pacific and along the Gulf coast. 
"Apparently the winter storms blew them in, Mills said. "Occasionally we see unusual birds on the Lake such as snow geese and swans that are not typical to the area."
