The votes are in, but not entirely decisive.The special election for Fairfield County Sheriff will be decided by runoff voting to find out whether it will be Will Montgomery or Keith Lewis who will serve as Fairfield County Sheriff.The special election was held to fill the position of Fairfield County Sheriff, which was left vacant by Herman Young’s resignation after 22 years of service.For the past fourteen years, Lewis has served as Chief Deputy for the Fairfield County Sheriff Department.This is Montgomery’s third time running for the position of Fairfield County Sheriff, and he currently works for Richland County Sheriff’s Department.Runoff balloting will take place Oct. 14.


County will convey property to town
