First Citizens hires manager at Ridgeway branch

RIDGEWAY, S.C. – First Citizens today announced that Bret Whiting has been selected to serve as Retail Sales Manager for the company’s Ridgeway branch. In his new role, Whiting will be responsible for introducing the bank’s products and services to prospective customers, providing customized financial solutions for current customers, and representing First Citizens in the community. He will be based at the bank’s Ridgeway office, located at 100 Palmer Street.Whiting comes to First Citizens with more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, having served as a branch manager for SunTrust Bank, a financial center manager for Wachovia, now Wells Fargo, and a branch manager for National Bank of Washington.

Cause of fatal house fire undetermined

LAKE WATEREE — One week after woman and her three dogs died in a house fire, the investigation has concluded the cause of the fire to be undetermined, officials said.Dianna Woods, 53, was found with her three dogs in the upstairs bathroom area of the home, according to Fairfield County Coroner Barkely Ramsey.Ramsey said the autopsy showed Woods died from carbon monoxide poisoning and thermal damage to the skin due to a house fire, which mirrored his initial report....
