‘Pink Out’ at RWA honors teacher

WINNSBORO — Richard Winn Academy hosted a “Pink Out Day” on Oct. 10, and everyone attending the game was encouraged to wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.The Richard Winn Academy varsity football team took things a bit further when they presented an arrangement of fresh flowers to Amelia Ellison, a teacher at Richard Winn Academy.“Since the start of the year, we have known that Mrs. Ellison has had breast cancer, and we were saddened to hear that one of our teachers had this happen to her,” said Matt Taylor, quarterback and all-around playmaker for Richard Winn Academy.He said the team decided a show of support would be appropriate during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
