Richard Winn goes 1-2 in Spring Break Tournament

WINNSBORO — Richard Winn Academy’s baseball team went 1-2 during a Spring Break Tournament at Fairfield Central High School last week.The Eagles won their first game 6-5 over Camden Military Academy on Monday.Eagles’ starting pitcher Cameron Cooper earned the win.Matt Taylor went 2-4 at the plate for Richard Winn.The Eagles fell in the second game to Great Falls and lost the championship game to the Griffins 6-3 on Thursday.Richard Winn head coach Al Berry said it is always good when baseball players can play games during Spring Break, as opposed to taking nine days off.“We were able to play everyday and it allowed us to work on problem areas before starting the playoffs,” he noted.
