Boyce James Vaughn, 87, husband of Mary Lou Hagood Vaughn, of 128 Capers Street, died September 24, 2007.

Born in Pelham, he was a son of the late Earnest D. and Edna Hawkins Vaughn.

Mr. Vaughn served in the US Army for 3 1/2 years during World War II and was awarded the Seven (T) Bronze Stars and the Silver Star. He was a salesman for Acme Distribution Company, a fifty-year member of the Walden Masonic Lodge 274, and a forty-year member of the Walden Masonic Lodge 274, and a forty-year member of the Hejaz Shrine.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Vaughn and lance Gallegos of Arlington, TX.

A memorial service was held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, with the Reverend Dr. Michelle McClendon officiating. Burial is private at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family received friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris?Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.

The Mackey Mortuary is serving the Vaughn family.
