This means that contributions to this community organization are tax-deductible.
“The Board of Directors of the FCDC are all thrilled that we have received acknowledgement of 501(c)(3) tax exempt status,” said Fairfield CDC board president Dr. Sharon Easley Williams.
“As a tax exempt non profit organization, we are now able to apply for grants that will enhance the lives of all Fairfield County residents. FCDC is a citizen-driven organization; only as strong as the citizens who support it.
“We believe that the residents of Fairfield County are strong, wise, and ready for positive change.
“We anticipate applying for funding to revitalize neighborhoods, develop affordable housing and day care, decrease crime, and increase economic development.
“We are excited about the impact FCDC will have on our community and with the community's support, we are ready to forge ahead.”
The Fairfield CDC is currently working with the Fairfield County School District on the ACCESS Housing concept, designed to provide housing for new teachers, as well as support for professional development, and a way to link new teachers more strongly to the community by providing a location for specialized instruction and enrichment for students and parents.
