KFB Appreciation Awards

The holidays are a time for saying thank you to people who have helped you all year. Keep Fairfield Beautiful got right into the holiday mode with their annual Appreciation Banquet. They gave appreciation plaques to the people who have done their best to make Fairfield County just a little more beautiful this past year.

The people who received awards of appreciation and their accomplishments are:

  • Linda Grant and Richard Winn Academy: School paper recycling efforts, and Town of Winnsboro Clean Up Day ;

  • Fairfield County Schools: School paper recycling efforts;

  • Fairfield Central High School Interact Club: Town of Winnsboro Clean up Day

  • Fairfield Central High School Junior ROTC: Campus Clean Up;

  • Kelly Miller Brownie Troop: Town of Winnsboro Clean up Day;

  • Biker Hiker 4- H club: Planted flowers in front of the Town Clock and created stepping stones for Butterfly garden and Fairfield County Food Bank, behind Clemson Extension Office;

  • Town of Winnsboro- Jill Cincotta: Grinding of the Greens, Clean Up Day, 4 H20 Camp Town Clean Up. Beth Bonds: 4-H20 Camp at Town Reservoir and tours of Water Plants

  • Town of Ridgeway Mayor Charlene Herring: Outstanding Beautification Efforts and Fostering Community Pride;

  • Bernie and Betty Enloe: Outstanding beautification of Enloe’s Corner and fostering community pride

  • Mr. and Mrs. MacArthur Richmond: Outstanding beautification of entrance to Westgate and fostering community pride;

  • Sam Arnette/State Farm Insurance: Support of litter pick up tools;

  • Church of Nazarene Members: Completed community service projects that included, litter pick up, yards cleaned, plantings and landscaping;

  • Fairfield County-Phil Hinely and Davis Anderson: Recycling efforts, Reusing of mums centerpieces for beautification of Bi Lo Memorial Park For their efforts in upgrading the County Recycling facilities;

  • SCDOT Winnsboro Office Employees: Litter Pick Up efforts. Fielding four litter pick up crews;

  • Sheriff’s Department: for acquiring of litter-preventing Ground Hog Camera;

  • Adopt A Highway Group of the Year: Sherry Thompson, Upper Hope Station Missionary Baptist Church;

  • Palmetto Pride and Keep South Carolina Beautiful for $6,260 Community Pride grant and Tree grant that supplied trees for KFB beautification projects;

  • Ben Arnold for their continued support of KFB and also their green business example to the County;

  • Community Resource~ Bank for their CEPTED beautification. Using elements of environmental design they enhanced the beauty of their business, while making the bank property safer for the community.;

  • Eric Cathcart and Fairfield County Farm Bureau for Grinding of the Greens collection and mulch distribution;

  • Winnsboro Mills Neighborhood Crime watch Association for placing of neighborhood signs and fostering community pride.
