Lila Mae “Shug” F. Jones of Winnsboro passed away at age 71 on November 21, 2007.

Services conducted by the Reverend Terry O. Corbin were held on November 27, 2007 at 3:00 PM?at St. Paul Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Corey Ford, Travis Ford, Willie J. Mobley, Benjamin Robinson, Curtis Young, and Sheldon Young.

Floral bearers were Hazel Adams, Joyce Adams, Michelle Adams, Connie Sampson, JoEllen Trapp and Patricia Weldon.

A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Jones was born on February 11, 1936 to the late Dave and Carrie L. Jones Ford. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Winnsboro, SC and later became a member of Brown Chapel Baptist Church in Jenkinsville, SC.

She was united in holy matrimony to Tares Lee “Bay” Jones, Sr. for over 45 years.

Those left to cherish her special memories: her husband; sons Bobby (Barbara), Terry (Rosa), Timothy (Sheila), Gregory, and Andre Ross (Essie) Jones, all of Winnsboro; daughters Lila (Clarence)?Virginia, and?Tracey (Michael), all of Winnsboro, Tammy (Billy)?of Jenkinsville, and Sharon D. Jones of Columbia; step-children Tares (Teresa)?Jones and Betty Gladney of Pittsburgh, PA; four brothers, Willie Frank Jones and John Henry Ford of New York, Johnnie Ford of Winnsboro, and Raymond Ford of Columbia; three sisters, Rayetta Ford, Laura Ford, and?Carrie Lou Young of Winnsboro; thirty-five grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; her very special friend Lois Pearson; and a host of other relatives who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by four sisters Josephine Adams, Evelyn Ford, Ollie Ford, and Azariea Belton; four brothers George Ford, Grady Ford, Rufus Ford, and James Edward Ford.

Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home served the Jones Family.
