Isn't this 80 degree weather, in February, unbelievable? It surely seems odd. We almost broke a record it seems; but we'll enjoy it while we can.

The January FCL meeting was held at the home of Ruth Ameen With Ruth and Carolyn Miller as hostesses.

The president, Ruth Ameen, called the meeting to order and Lola Dove gave a lovely devotion entitled "Encouraging You to Pray". She read Luke ll-5:13 and mentioned 3 ways to pray, (1)( Ask (2) seek and (3) knock). She closed with prayer.

The Flag Salutes and Club Creed were repeated in unision. Juanita Boyd gave the lesson on "Softer Side of Hard Times. She mentioned how the ladies made the quilts out of necessity, in the good old days, and how theymake them now for the beauty of them. We have some lovely quilters in our club.

Hostesses for the coming year were signed up.

Margaret Sanders and Juanita Boyd reported on the District and State meetings they had attended. Josie Gaston from Fairfield County was elected President Elect. Congratulations to you Josie.

The meeting adjourned and delightful refreshments and a social hour were enjoyed.

Mildred and Bobby Brown enjoyed a visit from Mitzie and David Beckham of Columbia last week. Mildred said they enjoyed a time of reminiscing and good fellowship.

The Annual Palmetto Preswick meeting. which was hosted by the Lebanon PCA ladies January 24th and held at Camp Laveda was a success. Twenty two churches were represented with ll5 attending. Bobbi Caldwell was the speaker and gave her testimony regarding her growth in Christ, "How Does Your Garden Grow." Our county churches will be well represented for the next session with Brande Rambo of the Lebanon Church as president, Deborah Gantt, of Union Memorial, secretary, Lily Caldwell of Lebanon as Treasurer and Thelma Hicklin of Union Memorial as Women in Ministry Chairperson.

The boys and I took a short trip to Conway on Wednesday of last week to check on Joe and June Timms. We found Joe making good progress and felt well enough to go out to lunch.

Kyle Gantt enjoyed the weekend from Clemson with his parents.

Thought for the week - "Be careful of a half truth; you may have gotten hold of the wrong half."
